Terms of Service
Last updated: April 18, 2026
Acceptance
By installing and using Hive Keeper ("the Extension"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Extension.
Description of Service
Hive Keeper is a free, open-source browser extension that allows you to:
- Store Hive blockchain private keys locally on your device (encrypted).
- Sign and broadcast transactions to the Hive blockchain.
- Interact with Hive-based decentralized applications (dApps).
- Manage Hive and Hive Engine token balances.
- Swap tokens using the Hive internal market and Hive Engine decentralized exchange.
Your Responsibilities
- Key security: You are solely responsible for the security of your master password and private keys. If you lose your master password, there is no way to recover your encrypted keys.
- Backup: You should maintain independent backups of your Hive private keys outside of this Extension.
- Transactions: All blockchain transactions are irreversible. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming every transaction before signing.
- Device security: Keep your browser and operating system up to date. The Extension's security depends on the security of your device.
No Warranty
The Extension is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The developers do not guarantee that the Extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of vulnerabilities.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developers of Hive Keeper and Ecency shall not be liable for any loss of funds, data, or other damages arising from the use of this Extension. This includes but is not limited to:
- Loss of private keys or master password.
- Unauthorized access to your device or browser.
- Errors in transaction signing or broadcasting.
- Losses from interacting with third-party dApps or smart contracts.
- Losses from token swaps, market price changes, or order execution.
Open Source License
Hive Keeper is released under the MIT License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the source code in accordance with the license terms.
Third-Party Services
The Extension interacts with third-party services (Hive RPC nodes, Hive Engine, CoinGecko) that are not controlled by us. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or security of these services.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
